A verse of love

One of the great things about the poetry course I'm doing is that I'm learning new poetic forms. If you'd like to write a bad poem very quickley, a form can be a great help.

Take for instance, the triolet. It contains only 5 different lines and can be written in a few minutes. Furthermore, it seems to ask for overly shlucky sentimental nonsense.

I wrote this one a few minutes ago. I tried to convince Andrew that it's about my feelings for him, but he wouldn't buy it.

To write a verse of love

To write a verse of love for you
I'd press the stars onto my page
And milk the moon to catch the hue
To write a verse of love for you.
For words alone can't say what's true
I am yours from age to age.
To write a verse of love for you
I'd press the stars onto my page.

Like it? Do you think you can do even better? Give it a go - it's fun!
